Therapy
Our psychologist is trained in providing evidence-based intervention for a range of psychological and developmental challenges to support your child or adolescent’s well-being, inclusive of but not limited to:

Assessments
A variety of diagnostic assessments are provided at Aspire Wellness Group for children, adolescents and adults, inclusive of cognitive, academic, behavioural and ADHD.
Completing an assessment at Aspire Wellness Group is a supportive process where you walk away with individualised support strategies and a greater understanding of yourself or child.
1-2 hour in person assessment session(s); the session duration varies depending on the type of assessment being completed.

Wechsler Intelligence Scales for Children (WISC-V)
Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV)

All assessments include a comprehensive psychological report and 50 minute feedback session.

LEGO® Group
LEGO® group is an evidence based child-centred social development communication program that encourages interests of children, making it a highly effective therapy.
Online Bibliotherapy Group
Children are introduced to a range of topics that encourage emotional well-being via the use of picture books paired with activities. Bibliotherapy is evidence based and successful in supporting the emotion regulation of children.
Online Parent Psychoeducation Group
Covering a range of topics such as ADHD, Autism, Pathological Demand Avoidance, functions of behaviour, emotion regulation support strategies, among other topics.
Online ADHD Parent Psychoeducation Group
Dives into the characteristics of ADHD and includes evidence-based support strategies.

Psychology is the study of the human mind and behaviour. Psychologists have extensive training in human development, understanding the brain, and unpacking how an individual may think, experience emotions, behave and respond. Psychologists work via a scientific-practitioner model, which involves applying evidence-based research and therapeutic techniques that are reliable and valid. A range of psychological interventions are utilised to support children, adolescents and adults, both in individual therapeutic sessions and group sessions.

Consultations at Aspire Wellness Group occur for 50-60 minutes.

You do not need a referral to book a consultation. However, if you would like to claim rebated sessions via Medicare you will need a referral from your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist to access a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). Once you have access to a MHCP, Medicare provides 10 rebated sessions per calendar year.

Accessing a referral can be achieved by booking a consultation with your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist to set up a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). Typically, your doctor will provide a referral for six initial sessions. Following the sixth session your psychologist will address a MHCP review letter to your referring doctor, who will then initiate a further four sessions if required. Annually you can access 10 rebated sessions via Medicare.
Psychological services may also be subsidised by your private health insurance; it is recommended you check your level of cover with your insurance provider.

Psychologists adhere to strict confidentiality when obtaining client information and any information disclosed during a session. Therefore, psychologists will protect your privacy and ensure that your client records are stored securely. However, there are three reasons when psychologists are legally obligated to break confidentiality.
If there is immediate risk of harm to your safety or that of someone else.
If your information is subpoenaed by a court of law.
If you provide consent for your psychologist to provide your information to another allied health professional or service.
During your first consultation at Aspire Wellbeing Group your psychologist will provide further information about the parameters of consent and confidentiality.

The initial consultation will involve the following:
Discussion regarding the limits to confidentiality and consent.
Answering any questions you may have about our service.
Obtaining a thorough background and developmental history about you or your child.
We will collaboratively develop goals for your therapy sessions.
Sessions following the initial consultation will involve building rapport with your child via play-based activities and collaboration, thereafter sessions will focus on therapeutic goals.

At Aspire Wellness Group we do not provide court reports, family custody recommendations nor attend court hearings as part of our services.

Psychologists do not prescribe medication, however Aspire Wellness Group can provide referrals to assist you seek pharmaceutical support from a GP, psychiatrist and/or paediatrician.
